The Cortez Recreation Center offers a variety of exercise classes for all ages and abilities. Classes are included with Annual, SilverSneakers or Silver&Fit Memberships. Without membership available for a $4 fee. Look below to find a class that suits you. 

Boot Camp

No Boots required! Offers a huge variety of calisthenics, body weight exercises, drill thrills, interval training, BURPEES.

Cycling Classes

HIIT Glutes and Core

Class begins with dynamic stretching into a series of 10 to 12min. full body plyometrics and calisthenics ,followed by 10-12 min. of isolated flute and abdominal burn out work. Ending with a short cool down. Focus is to ignite fat loss , while building muscle development and cardio endurance

Karate

The style of Karate taught is Ed Parker’s American Kenpo Karate. This Chinese-Based art was brought from Hawaii to the mainland U.S. by Ed Parker, the Senior Grandmaster and creator of the system. Kenpo is a very self-defense oriented system.
Training consists of learning basics composed of various strikes, kicks, blocks and stances. Level I class is for students aged 5-11; Level II for ages 12-Adult.

Tai Chi

Class has elements of “Tai Ji Quan, Moving for Better Balance,” Tai Chi, Qi Gong and Chinese Traditional Medicine. Focus is on BREATH, VISUALIZATION, MEDITION, MOVEMENT THERAPY, and BALANCE….moving and strengthening all parts of the body; sitting, standing and stepping.
