The Cortez Public Library is currently open to limited capacity Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.  Doorside pickup will remain an option for those who prefer limited contact or who need accommodation. Patrons may check out library laptops for use outside of the building with a current state-issued photo ID.

Our Wi-Fi hours are:
Monday – Thursday 7:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Friday & Saturday 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.                                      

Patrons need to wear a mask and are asked to keep their visits as brief as possible. The library also asks that visitors allow for six feet social distancing at all times. The library cannot accommodate groups.

The community meeting room, study rooms and the drinking fountain will remain closed. There is no restroom available for non-library users.


Public computers are available on a first come, first served basis. Use is limited to one 55-minute session per person per day. Please ask at the front desk if you need more time.

The photocopier is available for self-service use. Fax service is unavailable at this time.

Staff assistance with technology will be limited. Staff may be able to assist if appropriate six feet social distancing can be maintained.


We may only be open during limited business hours, but that doesn’t mean you have to wait to check out eBooks or audiobooks!  You get free access to our digital library with your library card at Simply download the Libby App, select "Cortez Public Library", enter your card number (no spaces) and you're all set! If you've lost your library card, please call us for your card number.
