Cortez Public Library Catalog on the Web
You can access the catalog of the Cortez Public Library online. The web address for the Cortez Public Library Catalog is:
http://library.cityofcortez.com (is case sensitive)
To find out what books the library owns, click the “Search” tab.
To see your account information click the “My Account” tab. You’ll need your patron ID, which is the full barcode number on your library card and your password which is your last name. You cannot change your patron information, but if it is out of date, please call the library (565-8117) and we can update it.
You can see what you have checked out by clicking the “Loan” tab. You can renew your books by checking the box before the title and clicking the renew button. Remember that we allow 2 renewals. It will not let you renew if someone else wants the book.
You can click the “Reserve” tab and see what you have on reserve. From there you can click “New Search,” find a book you want, select it and tell it to reserve it for you. Only place reserves on books that are checked out.
You can use the other tabs to find out what you owe in fines, what books you have checked out recently and what fines you have paid.

Tips For Using the Catalog
When searching for an author:
You must enter the author’s name like this example: King, Stephen
When searching for a subject:
Select “keyword” instead of “subject.” In this case “subject” refers to specific words librarians use to describe books. You will have better luck if you choose “keyword.”
