The City of Cortez offers an annual sidewalk cost-share program to help residents and business owners install new sidewalk or replace deteriorated sidewalks. The program encourages and promotes improvement of our public walkways by offering a 50% cost-share agreement with local residents. If your sidewalk is broken, cracked, heaved, or generally deteriorated, or you would like to install a new sidewalk, the City will help get it repaired.
Application forms should be returned to the City Service Center in the Industrial Park, 110 West Progress Circle, Cortez. For more information, contact the Public Works Department at 970.565.7320 during normal business hours.
Once the applications are received, a City representative will contact the applicant to go over the project itself, assist in accurately measuring the required sidewalk and, based on previous projects, offer an estimated cost to the property owner.
