Cortez Municipal Outdoor Pool

At the May 12, 2020, City Council Meeting, the decision was made to close the outdoor swimming pool for the 2020 season. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, many variables were taken into consideration, making this a very difficult decision. Council considered the projected general fund budget shortfall, limited services and revenues, a shortened swimming season, foreseeable staff shortage and the difficulty of social distancing within that facility.

The Cortez Municipal Aquatics Complex is located at 803 E. Montezuma Ave. 970-565-7877. Many activities are offered for children and adults alike.  We are proud to offer the American Red Cross Learn to Swim Program to people who would like to learn or to refine their swimming skills.  The highlights of this complex (to individuals who meet the height requirement) is the 125-foot double loop water slide and splash pad.
