Cortez Municipal Outdoor Pool

Summer 2016 information and fees

The Outdoor Pool is scheduled to open Memorial Day Weekend

We will be closed Monday - Friday beginning August 22nd, 2016
With regular hours on the weekends and the final day will be Labor Day 

This aquatics complex hosts a 125-foot double loop water slide, diving board, tube slides and a Splash Pad

May 28th - June 2nd

Adult Lap Swim: Monday - Sunday 11:45 AM - 12:50 PM
Open Swim: Monday - Sunday 1:00 PM - 4:50 PM
Open Swim Monday's and Wednesdays: 1:00-6:50 PM 

CLOSED June 3rd, 4th and 5th for a Swim Meet

June 6th - July 5th
Adult Lap Swim: Monday - Sunday 11:45 AM - 12:50 PM
Open Swim: Monday - Sunday 1:00 PM - 4:50 PM
Open Swim on Monday's and Wednesday's will be 6:00 PM-7:50 PM

July 5th - End of The Season
Adult Lap Swim: Monday - Sunday 11:45 AM - 12:50 PM
Open Swim: Monday - Sunday 1:00 PM - 4:50 PM
Open Swim on Monday's and Wednesday's will be 5:00 PM-6:50 PM
Again, we will be closed Monday - Friday beginning August 22nd, 2016 

The Splash Pad opens at 11:45 AM daily.  Children 7 years and younger must be accompanied by an adult.

The complex will be cleared of all patrons from 4:50 PM - 6:00 PM June 6th - July 1st
for swimming lessons 


No swimming lessons or lap swim on July, 4th due to the triathlon

The pool closed periodically for events, maintenance issues and the beginning of the school year, please call for updated hours.

*Children 4 years of age and under are allowed in the pool at no charge but must be accompanied by a paying adult dressed to swim

Pool Rental
Beginning June 10th, the pool is available for rental on Fridays from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM or 6:00 PM- 8:00 PM (depending on swim lesson schedule), and Saturdays and Sundays from 5:00 PM-7:00 PM.  The fee to rent the pool is $225 for up to 100 people.  Parties with more than 100 people will be charged for the cost of additional guards.

Shelter Rental
A pavilion at the pool is available for rent. It contains two picnic tables. $15.00 an hour with a minimum of two hours

Swimming Lessons
The Cortez Municipal Aquatics Complex participates in the American Red Cross Learn to Swim Program.  Children must be five years old by August 30 2016. Adult and Tot classes are available for children who don't meet these requirements. Each session is $30

Session 1 June 6th-June 17th Registration June 2nd
Session 2 June 20th - July 1st Registration June 16th
Session 3 July 5th - July 15th Registration June 30th
Session 4 July 18th - 29th Registration July 14th

Registration is held in front of the facility beginning the Thursday before each two-week session, beginning at 7:00 a.m. on a first come, first served basis (or you may call your registration in and pay with a credit card at the time of registration).

Evening Lessons offered during the first and second sessions only

Adult Lap Swim
Lap swim is open to the adult public, and pool guidelines for swimming laps must be followed. Lanes are not provided during open swim times. Children are not allowed to swim at this time, but may come into the facility only if accompanied by a supervisor 16 years or older who remain by their side at all times.

Dive in Movie Night
Join the staff and DARE with a dip in the pool on a hot summer night.  Come listen to music and watch a feature film at dusk.  Bring your own floatie for watching the movie in the pool.

June 22nd

6-8 pm DJ Music  Movie Starts at 8:30 and will be voted on that night
FREE to all grade school and middle school students
Bring your water toys and something to float on
Bring warmer clothes for the movie as it gets chilly when you are wet and soggy
