Cortez City Hall Closure - Extended to January 25, 2021

As a proactive mitigation effort, the City of Cortez is closing Cortez City Hall to ensure our staff and community members are protected against the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19).

Cortez City Hall will be closed to the public.  City Hall was scheduled to re-open for regular business on January 18, 2021.  

Out of an abundance of caution City Hall will remain closed until January 25, 2021.

These efforts reduce close contact between people to reduce community transmission of the virus as infection rates rise in our area.

All essential functions will continue to operate including Administration, Public Safety (Police and 911-Dispatching), Water, Streets, Airport, Trash, and City Hall. 

In order to accommodate the paying of utility bills, the front desk at City Hall will be open the week of the 18th from 11am – 1pm Monday and Friday.  

You can make utility payments online at or place in the drop box located on the west side of the building.

There will be NO drop in meetings with staff members.

If your business with the city requires an in person meeting with one of the following departments, please call and make an appointment with a staff member.
