CORTEZ CITY HALL - NOW 100% SOLAR POWERED

After the successful renovation in 2016 of the new Cortez City Hall, which initially included 14 kW of solar and resulted in a LEED certified energy-efficient building, the City of Cortez elected to make the new City Hall 100% solar in early 2018.

Just recently, Shaw Solar completed the installation of an additional 88 kW of solar on City Hall’s large, flat roof.  The building will now be producing 100% of their power from the sun on an annual basis.

Overall, the city has over 100 kW of solar on City Hall (or 326 solar panels) harvesting the copious energy from the sun in the clear, dry climate of Montezuma County.Cortez City Hall - 3
