With the recent storms, it has been noticed that many of the trash containers are surrounded by piles of ice and snow. This makes it difficult – not to mention dangerous – for the City crews to reposition (push, pull, and/or shove) the containers close enough to the trash truck so they can be emptied. If a trash container cannot easily be moved, the Refuse Crew will be unable to empty it. They will return on the next scheduled pick-up day. Your cooperation in this matter is greatly appreciated. The City of Cortez Municipal Election will be held on Tuesday, April 6, 2010, pursuant to Article IV of the Charter of the City of Cortez, the purpose being to fill five (5) positions on the Cortez City Council taking office on the 27th day of April, 2010.  There shall be elected three council members for terms of four years each, and two council members for a term of two years each.  Candidates for election must be 21 years or age or older, a registered elector, and a resident of the City of Cortez for (1) year preceding the date of the election.  The Mayor is chosen among t
